Greater Peace of Mind Through Therapy Focused on Empathy & Expertise

Michael J. Kurtz, PsyD., MSCP was born and raised in Miles City, Montana. After obtaining his BA and MS degrees in Psychology at MSU-Billings, he received his doctorate (PsyD) from Spalding University in Louisville, KY, completing his doctoral internship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He subsequently completed a Post-doctoral MS in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Dr. Kurtz is excited to be back home in eastern Montana to provide Montanans with the highest quality psychotherapy. He works with adults (18+) and approaches psychotherapy from a theoretically integrated perspective, which is primarily relational in nature. He is also now licensed through PsyPACT, allowing him to offer teletherapy to 41 states PSYPACTMap - Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).

Liat Hoffman, Psy.D., was born in South Africa and raised in San Diego, California. She received her master's and doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Anaheim, California. She completed her doctoral internship at the VA Montana Healthcare System (Fort Harrison) and her Postdoctoral Neuropsychology Fellowship at the Portland VA Medical Center. She is thrilled to be back in Montana and resides in Flathead County.
Dr. Hoffman is passionate about working with rural populations and breaking down barriers to increase access to care. She has expertise in providing tele-neuropsychological assessments and cognitive rehabilitation and practices psychotherapy from a relational orientation. Along with her work with us, she is currently employed full-time as a Clinical Neuropsychologist for the VA, servicing populations in rural communities of Idaho, Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.
Dr. Hoffman is excited to join the Billings Premium Psychology team and give back to the Montana community. She offers the following telehealth services on a part-time basis: neuropsychological assessments, presurgical evaluations, cognitive rehabilitation, and individual psychotherapy.

Dr. Kristen Wederski, Psy.D., is the newest addition to Billings Premium Psychology. She has recently obtained her Doctorate from the University of Denver, completing her doctoral internship at Montana State University's counseling center, and is joining our practice as a Postdoctoral Psychologist working towards independent licensure in Montana.
Dr. Wederski's approach is collaborative and relational, meaning that she believes growth happens through authenticity, curiosity, and connection. She works with adults navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, and helps them reconnect with what matters most. She also works with children and teens, helping them manage emotions, develop coping skills, and strengthen family connections. Lastly, she offers couple's therapy for couples who feel distant or stuck in unhelpful cycles and helps them build trust, communication, and closeness.
In addition to her therapy, Dr. Wederski will also be offering a range of formal psychologist assessments. Please reach out with your specific assessment question to see if she can meet this need.
Ultimately, our focus is to offer therapy which empowers individuals. This starts with genuinely respecting your autonomy and right to choose your own path. Whether you're getting by "good enough" in your life but still find yourself discontent and aren't sure why, or you're dealing with mental illness (e.g., anxiety, depression, trauma) which is beginning to unravel your relationships and your life. You may seek short-term symptom relief, and this will always be respected, on the other hand, you may choose to dive deeper to clarify and work on the root of a reoccurring problem.
With the additions of Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Wederski, we also provide neuropsychological & psychological assessments that assist individuals in gaining a deeper understanding of factors contributing to cognitive & psychological difficulties and resources available to improve overall quality of life.
We promise to be up front and honest from the first therapy appointment to the final session. We promise to take your struggles seriously and always respect the confidence placed in our psychologists throughout this personal journey. There are never any guarantees as to individual "results" in psychotherapy, but we promise to help to the very best of our professional expertise and serve as a trusted ally and guide as you find your way forward to where you want to be in your life.
